On June 1, 2009, DBC moved to their newly purchased building at 120th and Manhattan Ave in Harlem. We took this opportunity to renovate the location with sustainability and community in mind.
Focusing on green design, DBC completed systematic upgrades to the utilities. The office can now enjoy reduced energy costs and work in a more modern space.
The new location affords us a great opportunity to connect with the community. We’ve adjusted our recruitment strategies to support the local economy, drawing directly from the neighbors that witness the work we do. We continually reach out to locally-focused organizations including the Harlem Congregations for Community Improvement apprentice program and Columbia Employment Information Center on West 125th Street.
Our community support does not stop there. Deborah Bradley acts as a class instructor for Skanska USA’s Construction Management Program in cooperation with the Harlem Business Alliance to benefit growing small businesses and MWBEs.
Deborah has been involved in local organizations including Dominican Sunday, Inc. and was the recipient of their 2006 Women Business Achievement Award. She has also served on the fundraising committee for the Boy Scouts of America Construction and Transportation Industry for eight years.
