BAT Pier 4 North Dock Utility Upgrades: New Marine Power and Water Service

DBC performed as a subcontractor to Skanska USA to perform utility upgrades and renovations for new Marine Power and Water Service at the Brooklyn Army Terminal’s Pier 4 North Dock.

The scope of work included furnishing and installing one 600A 480/277V panelboard, one 600A 208/120V panelboard and one 225 kVA transformer in the Annex Building on a new structural steel platform. Installed conduit and 600kCMIL wire from the new 600A 480/277V panelboard to the existing 1200A panelboard in the Annex Building and one new 600A circuit breaker in the existing panelboard to tie the new equipment into the existing service. DBC core drilled through pile cap on Pier 4, then furnished and installed FRE electrical conduit, #4/0 wire & 2″ water service with freeze protection under the pile deck. We then added two new marine power and water service pedestals on Pier 4, installed new electrical conduit, wire, and water service with freeze protection in a new raised utility curb to feed the new pedestals.
