COVID Testing Facilities

Multiple COVID Testing Facilities were completed at various locations throughout New York City for NYC Department of Design and Construction.

 

Work included all labor and materials to relocate existing furniture and fixtures, selective demolition, install new vinyl flooring throughout, painting throughout, furnish and construct new movable partitions and furnish and install air scrubbers, HEPA filters, hand sanitizer stations, fire extinguishers, medical grade undercounter and full-size refrigerators, plexiglass dividers, wayfinding and social distancing signage and all FF&E for tents and interior testing stations.

 

Electrical installation required substantial modifications to the electrical service, including temporary 10kVA transformer with a 1,000 A disconnect ties into the existing electrical distribution system.

 

Projects were all extremely fast-track with only partial design drawings issued. DBC was required to use means and methods for quick resolution of existing conditions and to design and implement electrical requirements to complete temporary power to complete the opening of the sites on time. All sites were completed ahead of schedule and on budget.
