DBC is the general contractor performing both the site work and electrical work for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey for the replacement of the Fuel Farm Substation Switch Gear at La Guardia Airport.
Work included removal of the existing electrical substation switchgear, meter cabinet and low voltage distribution panel and associated components, providing and maintaining temporary stand-by generator, furnishing and installing electrical feeders and duct bank infrastructure, SCADA, fiber optic interface, new steel and reinforced concrete platform, and to furnish and install a new outdoor 5 kV switchgear, energy meter cabinet, 45 kVA transformer and low voltage distribution panel. DBC provided and maintained a temporary 300 kW generator and manual transfer switch during the duration of the project. Work also included a new chain link fence enclosure, new bollards and new site lighting, striping and MPT throughout the project. Responsibilities also include shop drawing, testing and inspections for all electrical and civil scope of work.
