Major redevelopment of approximately 265,000 SF at Manhattan Psychiatric Center on Wards Island. The gut renovation includes a 25-bed secure inpatient care unit with central observation desks on each of the nine floors of the A-side of the Dunlap Building along with three treatment malls and the creation of a double height gymnasium by removing a portion of one floor.
Additionally, a new 14-stop 3-cab elevator tower will be added to the A-side of the building as well as a new pedestrian entry and new vehicular port and secure entrance for new arriving patients. The basement, 1st and 2nd floors will be renovated to house all administration and support programs, resulting In the decommissioning of the Meyer and Kirby buildings.
The project also includes site improvements for new patient recreational yards and reconfigured vehicle and pedestrian pathways.
DBC is providing administrative support services as a sub consultant to TDX as well as General Conditions Labor for the project.
