Metropolitan Hospital Flood Wall Resiliency

DBC is a subcontractor to Gilbane Building Company for the H+H Metropolitan Hospital FEMA Flood Resiliency Project to install large detention tank structures, sewage ejector pits and storm pump stations for the H+H Metropolitan Hospital stormwater and sewage system.


Work includes removal of concrete sidewalks and curbs, existing surface and sub-surface, catch basins and manholes, abandoned structures and pipe, knee walls, shrubs and trees, internal sidewalk and roadway demo, and concrete bus pad. Excavation and removal of soil, trenching, shoring, backfilling, and dewatering. Installation of sewage ejector pits and storm pump stations with connection and commissioning of pumps, install and construct manholes, install catch basins, construct control chambers, trench drains, grading, steel face curbs, new access ramp to main entrance of the hospital, pavers, architectural pre-cast seat wall, DIP installation and new sidewalks for both NYC DOT and Internal Campus. Large equipment like excavators, boom trucks and mobile cranes are being used to set certain structures.


This substantially complete project has been performed while maintaining continuous access to a fully operational hospital.
